Opening Salvo

I'm a network administrator. I like computers and servers and gadgets, but mostly I like systems; putting the computers, servers, and gadgets to work for people. I guess it's like creating a Rube Goldberg machine. Once you put it all together and flip the switch, it's always amazing how all this disparate stuff operates.

I've wanted to start a blog as a way to give information to you. There is so much hype and nonsense that it is nearly impossible to discern a clear path. Hopefully, what I tell you in this blog will help you to effectively navigate information technology.
